The European Union is embarking on an ambitious journey to address skills gaps and enhance the EU skills strategy with the launch of the European Year of Skills. This year-long initiative aims to empower individuals by equipping them with the necessary skills for the future job market, particularly in the realms of digital and green technologies.
The European Year of Skills will serve as a catalyst for reskilling and upskilling initiatives, offering individuals the opportunity to acquire in-demand skills and adapt to the evolving needs of the job market. The European Commission, European Parliament, Member States, social partners, public and private employment services, chambers of commerce and industry, education and training providers, as well as workers and businesses, will join forces as key stakeholders in promoting skills development throughout the year.

The European Year of Skills will showcase national efforts and existing as well as new EU initiatives that aim to bridge the skills gap.
